The fans fromFC 24 Coinsthe United States Women's National Team Megan Rapinoe, a soccer star, have launched an online petition to have her become one of the FIFA 22 covers' star. The star of Rapinoe has been rising since the USWNT took home their first FIFA Women's World Cup, which she also won the Golden Boot, and fans would like to see her achievements recognized with her own FIFA 22 cover.
A soccer fan called Darren Holland has started a petition on Change.org to ask EA to place Rapinoe in the center of FIFA 22. Holland claims that the petition was started because IGN released a mockup featuring Rapinoe in the role of FIFA 22 cover star on its official Twitter account with more than 400 retweets, and over 2.000 likes. "EA has achieved more than FIFA in regards to support" for the women's sport as per the petitioner and women's teams have been part of the tournament from EA Sports FC 24. Holland is also calling the decision to create Rapinoe an official cover star "no-brainer."
Holland claims that this might help this team USWNT in their struggle to ensure equal wages. The players and fans who support the game have been protesting against the disparity in pay, especially the US men's team hasn't been able to win the world cup and hasn't qualified for the tournament to be held in 2022. They are paid more than women. "More exposure for the team and women's soccer can help them change their mind," says the fan.
This Change.org petition is currently attracting 1.694 signatures , though the amount is growing since more people sign it each and every minute. When it comes to the reasons why they signed the petition, one person states that the achievements of Rapinoe as an Golden Boot winner and two-time world champion "deserve to be acknowledged." Another person calls"the USWNT #15 as an "outstanding athlete and role-model" whom he "deserves" being included on the roster of FIFA 22.
EA has announced FIFA 22 at E3 2022 and also revealed the brand new Volta game play mode however it is yet to reveal the star of the cover. Fans will be looking forward to seeing if EA and Rapinoe will cooperate prior to the release of the game in September. If EA decided to include Rapinoe as the game's cover FIFA 22. it wouldn't be the first time one of the USWNT player has appeared in the FIFA boxart. In 2022. Rapinoe's fellow captain and teammate Alex Morgan was on the cover of EA Sports FC 24 alongside Barcelona player and Argentina international Lionel Messi.
EA might decide to team up with two soccer players from the international scene. France won the men's World cup in the past and many would love to see a player such as the Antoine Griezmann and Kylian M'bappe in the FIFA 22 cover, if EA does not decide to make her the only boxartist on the cover.
